Awards Ceremony

The 2017 Birmingham Sports Awards will culminate in a lavish awards ceremony on 20th September, at Edgbaston Cricket Ground. Guests will be welcomed to the evening with a Champagne reception before enjoying a fabulous three course gourmet meal. Following this, the friends and family of the finalists are invited to join the evening to watch the ceremony, where the winner of each category will be announced. A host of sporting celebrities will attend the evening and will present each award alongside the category sponsor.

The night will raise money for Sport Birmingham. Sport Birmingham is part of a national network of 45 County Sports Partnerships which receives core funding from Sport England, and is one of 6 CSPs in the West Midlands area. The organisation plays a key role in shaping sport and physical activity strategy and policy; developing key strategic partnerships with a wide range of public, private and voluntary sector sport and leisure providers; attracting investment, levering funding and supporting the delivery of partner programmes (in particular, National Governing Bodies of Sport). They work with partners to drive up levels of participation and success in sport at the grassroots level, and we support clubs, coaches and volunteers to ensure that sporting provision meets local need.

Through a small game and silent auction which will take place throughout the evening, we plan to raise much needed funds for this truly worthwhile cause.

The awards night will be filled with fabulous entertainment from two outstanding hosts, TV Weather Presenter Emma Jesson and Former World and European Championship Sprinter Derek Redmond.  The room will also be full of current and former sporting celebrities to add an extra sparkle to the evening.
